Winter Food & Fund Drive

Date: November 16th - March 1st
Location: Food donation bins are located in grocery stores and fire halls. Financial donations can be made online thefoodbank.ca, by calling 519-743-5576 or in person at The Food Bank, 50 Alpine Court, Kitchener. 

1 in 20 households in Waterloo Region need food support. Half of these households are families with children. Please register a food & fund raising drive at work, school, in your neighbourhood, or your place of worship. Food & Fund drives are welcome and needed year round. Canstruction Waterloo Region


Dates: :March 10-19, 2017
Location: Conestoga Mall, Waterloo
Time: During the mall's regular hours 

A Wonderful March Break Outing! Canstruction® Waterloo Region is an inspiring display of local creativity and commitment to helping The Food Bank of Waterloo Region. Teams are given an opportunity to defy expectations, logic and gravity as they build fantastic sculptures from cans of food. All the food and funds raised will help local children, seniors, individuals, and families in need. 

Help choose which Canstruction sculpture will win the People's Choice award by voting with your financial donation! Each $1 raised provides 3 meals.

Filling the Palette Art Show and Sale ---- Call to Artists

Location: The Food Bank of Waterloo Region, 50 Alpine Court, Kitchener

Artists from Waterloo Region are invited to participate in the Second Annual "Filling the Palette" Art Show and Sale on Friday, May 5, 2017 in the warehouse of The Food Bank of Waterloo Region!

This juried art sale is being organized in support of The Food Bank of Waterloo Region. Seventy-five percent (75%) of the sale price of sold artwork will go directly to the artist, and 25% will be contributed to The Food Bank. 

One in 20 households in Waterloo Region need essential food support. More than a third of those needing this vital assistance are children. The Food Bank is at the centre of a network of agencies providing community meals, emergency hampers, outreach and shelter programs. Every day, 240 hampers and 1600 meals are provided to families and individuals that need help to make ends meet.  For each $1 donated, The Food Bank is able to provide 3 meals.

Artwork Selection 

Eligibility:  Artists must be residents of Waterloo Region. 

Format: Art submitted for juried selection must be original fine art and available for sale. All formats/mediums to be considered.

D
imensions: Two dimensional and small to medium sized pieces would be preferable. Art must be ready for exhibition (framed/mounted and ready to hang/display).

Entry Fee: There is no entry fee to participate in this art show and sale. Artists will contribute 25% of the sale price of any artwork sold to The Food Bank of Waterloo Region. 

All artists are welcome to attend the event.  Artists are responsible for setting their own prices and these prices should include all taxes, any required affiliated gallery commissions, and the 25% contribution to The Food Bank of Waterloo Region.

Loblaws Food Drive


Date: Friday, March 31st - Thursday, April 13th, 2017
Location: Your local Zehrs, Real Canadian Superstore, valu-mart and no frills stores 

About: Loblaw Companies National Food Drive will be held at Zehrs, Real Canadian Superstore, valu-mart, and no frills stores across Waterloo Region. They will be collecting food & funds on behalf of The Food Bank of Waterloo Region.

Please make a $2 donation with the cashier at the till upon check out $2= 6 meals
