It’s Canstruction time again! What can local organizations, engineering, architectural, design companies and schools create with thousands of cans? You’ve got to see them to believe them! 14 amazing structures all competing for the public’s favour. Come to Conestoga Mall or check online during March Break to see them and to vote. $1 = 1 vote = 3 meals for someone in our community needing our help.

“Ending Hunger is awesome!
Ending hunger is cool when you’re part of a team!
Ending hunger is needed to help those live their dream,” stated Stantec’s team in describing their structure.
“Canstruction is a wonderful example of how working together makes our community stronger. The food from the 15 structures will help provide more than 40,000 meals in our community. The funds raised through votes for the People’s Choice award this week will help us get the food to the people that need it,” commented Wendi Campbell, Executive Director of The Food Bank of Waterloo Region, admiring the cooperation and coordination implemented by all the teams.

The structures will be on display at Conestoga Mall until 5 p.m. March 22. Voting for the People’s Choice winner can be done by donation at the mall or online all week. $20 will help provide food for a family for 4 days.
The following ribbons have been awarded so far:

Judges Favourite – MTE
Best Use of Labels – Walterfedy
Structural Ingenuity Award – Walterfedy
Best Meal – Muslim Association of Canada
Honourable Mention – TEAM ARIDO

Which one will be the People’s Choice? It is up to you! Winner will be named at 5:00 on March 22.
