They have been a community partner of The Food Bank of Waterloo Region since 2018 and in that time have helped provide 60,000 meals to the 34,552 people struggling to put food on the table.

The Food Bank of Waterloo Region (The Food Bank): Tell me a little bit about Morell Kelly Accident, Injury & Disability Law?

Morell Kelly Accident, Injury & Disability Law: We are a law firm that represents people who have been hurt in accidents or are pursuing entitlement to benefits through an insurance company. Before I practiced personal injury law I had a mixed court practice for a decade that included Legal Aid work such as family law, criminal law, child protection law and landlord and tenant law.

The Food Bank: Why is it important, as an organization, to give back to the community?

Morell Kelly Accident, Injury & Disability Law: It is important to me, on behalf of the firm to give back and invest in the community where we live and work. I believe it is essential to do what we can to help people who are in need and to support community events which make people feel included and involved in their communities.

The Food Bank: What does it mean to you and your organization to be able to give back so generously to the charitable and non-profit organizations in Waterloo Region?

Morell Kelly Accident, Injury & Disability Law: Giving to The Food Bank is a priority because it supports a basic human need. With our community developing so quickly, the cost and availability of accommodations has become a huge problem for a lot of individuals and families and we want to do what we can to help.

Morell Kelly Accident, Injury & Disability Law: We support The Food Bank of Waterloo Region by making a monthly donation to assist with The Food Bank’s food costs.

The Food Bank: Why do you and/or your organization support The Food Bank of Waterloo Region?

Morell Kelly: We support The Food Bank to help people meet their basic needs. If people are experience food insecurity and hunger, that may create additional barriers to them finding ways to address their other needs.
