Food Assistance Resources for Educators

January 20th, 2021Awareness, COVID-19, Youth

Educators and students throughout Waterloo Region have returned to online learning, and we want to make sure you have access to important information and resources to share with families and students who may be in need of food assistance.

The COVID-19 health crisis continues to impact our daily lives; leaving many families feeling the ongoing stress of job loss, limited budgets, illness, and homeschooling.

We have created a resource page, that lists the local programs currently providing food assistance. This page is updated regularly and we encourage you to share this resource with students and families who may be in need.

In addition, you can visit: thefoodbank.ca/teacherresources for teaching resources about hunger in our community, such as activity sheets and book recommendations.

If you would like to donate to The Food Bank during this time, please visit: thefoodbank.ca/COVID-19-response.

For after hours supports and resources, such as emergency childcare, animal care services and mental health, visit the Region of Waterloo’s webpage.
