National Volunteer Week: The Value of One, The Power of Many

April 16th, 2021Volunteers

This year’s theme for National Volunteer Week: The Value of One, The Power of Many, resonated strongly with the staff at The Food Bank of Waterloo Region, as we look back at the incredible role each of you had this year.

While volunteering has changed, what has remained constant is the impact each of you have. We saw it before the pandemic and continue to see it every day.

Whether you are building agency orders, sorting food donations, building hampers or delivering food to the Community Food Assistance Network, each of you is having a direct impact on families in need. Volunteering your time means so many families in Waterloo Region can rest easy knowing they don’t have to choose between paying bills or buying groceries.

We appreciate you every day but this National Volunteer Week, we want to celebrate and say thank you.
