6 Coupon and Money Saving Apps to Save on Groceries

March 31st, 2022Food & Recipes

As the country continues to recover from the Covid-19 pandemic, many Canadians are grappling with rapidly increasing food prices. As Canada’s food inflation rate reached 6.5% in February, the average family of four can expect to spend about $1,000 more on food in the upcoming year. And with ongoing supply chain issues, rising energy costs, labour shortages, adverse weather conditions and turmoil overseas, food prices are expected to climb even higher. While these factors are out of our control, there are steps you can take to help reduce your grocery bill.

Our team has compiled a list of 6 coupon and money saving apps to help single-person households and families save money at the grocery store:

Reebee

How it works:

The Reebee shopping app allows you to browse a complete list of local grocery flyers, all in one place. The app’s search feature helps you find relevant coupons based on what you’re shopping for. Users then save the offers they want and redeem them at the point of purchase. You can also create a shopping list within the app and sync it to other devices. For those who do a lot of shopping, flyers are one of the best ways to save some money. Reebee is available as an app on Android and iOS devices.

Flipp

How it works:

Flipp is a handy shopping app that allows you to browse weekly flyers from retailers near you. Rather than sifting through a cluttered kitchen table of flyers from your mailbox, Flipp compiles them on one easy-to-navigate app. One of the best features of the app is the ability to search for an item, such as eggs, to see all the flyers listed and for what price. The app also allows you to create a shopping list and clip your coupons virtually. Flipp is available as a desktop web application or as an Android or iOS app.

Caddle

How it works:

If you enjoy stacking coupons and answering surveys, the Caddle app is perfect for you! This shopping app allows users to earn cash back by answering surveys, watching ads, providing product reviews and engaging with brands. Available exclusively in Canada, Caddle offers high value cash back coupons that update every Thursday. As an extra bonus, you can earn valuable rebates from brands you love simply by uploading your receipts after your purchase. You can download Caddle for free on Android and iOS.

PC Optimum Insiders

How it works:

If you shop at any Loblaws-owned stores, such as Zehrs, Shoppers Drug Mart and Fortinos, you can earn up to 10% back in PC Optimum points on all house-hold and food products. PC Optimum points can be used to pay for groceries and other items at participating stores. If you spend $10 a week on PC items you’ll receive $52 back per year! Points can be redeemed for your complete purchase or to pay for a portion of it. You can download the PC app for Android and iOS or use the physical card.

Checkout 51

How it works:

Checkout 51 is a Canadian coupon app that helps you get discounts on your favourite products. Shoppers add relevant offers to their shopping list and make purchases to redeem them. After you make a purchase you simply upload a readable photo of your receipt to start earning cash back. Once you reach $20, Checkout 51 will send you a check. The app provides a new and comprehensive list of offers every Thursday. Checkout 51 is available as a desktop web application or as an Android or iOS app.

SavinGroceriesApp – savin.app

How is works:

Savin Groceries app is an exclusively Canadian app dedicated to saving Canadians money on groceries. The app provides access to hundreds of coupons, flyers and cashback offers to provide you with the most relevant savings. The platform identifies the best deals of the week that are unique to you. Users also have the ability to manually select flyer savings, cashback offers and coupons to save to their favourites list. The Savin Groceries app is free to download for Android and IOS.

We hope you find this list helpful as you start to maximize your grocery savings.
