Meet Vince.

Vince is a regular around The Food Bank. He’s been volunteering with us for six years and is passionate about making sure Waterloo Region is a thriving community for everyone.

He wants people to know that volunteering is easy and there is a group of amazing people that do this in their free time. “I’m really amazed with the staff too; they’ve gone through what the volunteers do and then some.”

When asked what empathy means to him: “It’s about understanding. Understanding other’s feelings. You have to put yourself in their shoes.”

For those considering volunteering at The Food Bank, Vince wants you to know, that it’s easier than you think. “Sometimes we worry ‘oh what if we don’t like it? What if I’m not good at it?’ but whatever you’re comfortable with, The Food Bank is happy with.”
