In the Community: Caudle’s Catch Seafood
November 12th, 2022In the Community
If you are in the market for quality, fresh, and frozen seafood and friendly service with a smile, look no further than Caudle’s Catch Seafood. After moving to Waterloo region in the early 1980s, the family quickly saw an opportunity to share their Maritime roots (and love of seafood) with their new community.
As a well-established local business, the family and staff at Caudle’s Catch Seafood understand the importance of giving back to the community that has supported them over the years.
Caudle’s Catch Seafood has been a dedicated food industry partner of The Food Bank since 2015 and in that time they have participated in food and fund drives, community events as well as providing regular seafood donations. Their support has helped to provide more than 114,000 meals to those in our community in need of food assistance.
In our latest business profile, we chat with Monica Caudle, Human Resources and Marketing manager, Caudle’s Catch Seafood, about the importance of collaboration and how working together can help build stronger, healthier communities.
The Food Bank of Waterloo Region (The Food Bank): Tell me a little bit about Caudle’s Catch Seafood?
Caudle’s Catch Seafood: We are a family run business that has been open for 36 years. We now have six locations throughout Waterloo region, including an online store to reach our customers outside the community. Apart from our retail stores, we have a large wholesale department, servicing large food grocers, food distribution companies and restaurant chains.
The Food Bank: Why is it important, as an organization, to give back to the community?
Caudle’s Catch Seafood: It is important to give back because this community is our home. Without it and the people, we wouldn’t be as successful as we are. By giving back to the community, we hope to show that we care and support it as well.
The Food Bank: What does it mean to your organization to be able to give back so generously to the charitable and non-profit organizations in Waterloo Region?
Caudle’s Catch Seafood: Being able to give back is important to us because sometimes it is forgotten how people take from charities and non-profits but are unable to give back. It is honourable to be able to give back to them so the services are there for people in the community to use.
The Food Bank: How does Caudle’s Catch Seafood support The Food Bank of Waterloo Region?
Caudle’s Catch Seafood: We support The Food Bank by providing frozen fish to The Food Bank at cost to provide a diverse variety of food to support the different cultures within the community. In addition we run food and fund drives and support the food drive bag program.
The Food Bank: Why do you support The Food Bank of Waterloo Region?
Caudle’s Catch Seafood: The Food Bank is important because we have such a big name within the food industry, we have the resources and can use our strengths to support the community where it may be weak. It is important to us to give back as well as knowing it is going to a valuable organization such as The Food Bank. We also hope to encourage other businesses to give back to the organization as well.
