Westmount Tradition Charity Tennis Tournament raises 237,000 meals for people in need
July 15th, 2024Events, In the Community
From June 14 to 16, the Westmount Golf & Country Club hosted its 8th annual Tradition Charity Tennis Tournament in Kitchener. This year’s event raised over $118,000 for The Food Bank of Waterloo Region.
More than 100 players took part in the weekend event, which included a variety of activities and initiatives.
On the Saturday night, Westmount Golf & Country Club members attended a gala and live auction in support of The Food Bank. Additionally, a casino night was held in May to kick off the tournament.
Leading up to the weekend event, there was also a silent auction and 50/50 Raffle in support of The Food Bank. The public was invited to participate in both. Mary G. of Wellesley township was the lucky 50/50 winner and took home $10,350!
We were incredibly honoured to once again be the chosen charity for this year’s tennis tournament. With the funds raised, The Food Bank can provide 237,000 meals for people in need.
Thank you so much to Westmount Golf & Country Club for hosting this event and to all who participated. Your generosity truly makes a difference to the more than 58,600 individuals in our community who struggle to afford to put food on the table and need food assistance.
