Raise a glass to fight hunger: Tickets available for Whisky & Wine in the Warehouse

Waterloo Region, Ont., November 25, 2024 – Tickets are now on sale for Whisky & Wine in the Warehouse, a unique event supporting The Food Bank of Waterloo Region while raising awareness about food insecurity in the community.

The event takes place on Saturday, May 3, 2025, from 7 to 11 p.m. at The Food Bank’s distribution centre at 50 Alpine Court in Kitchener. Guests can enjoy whisky and wine tastings, delicious hors d’oeuvres, live entertainment, and the chance to connect with fellow community members. They’ll also learn about the growing need for food assistance and the incredible impact of The Food Bank’s work in nourishing the community.

The evening also features live and silent auctions offering unique items and experiences, providing fun and interactive ways to support The Food Bank.

“We’re thrilled to host this event and bring our community together for an unforgettable evening of celebrating, learning, and giving,” says Kim Wilhelm, CEO of The Food Bank of Waterloo Region. “Whisky & Wine in the Warehouse will not only increase awareness about food insecurity in Waterloo region but will also raise vital funds to help feed our neighbours in need. Together, we’ll raise a glass and make a difference for those facing hunger.”

Tickets start at $150 and are available at thefoodbank.ca/whiskywine. A limited number of VIP packages are also available, offering an elevated experience.

Events like Whisky & Wine in the Warehouse make a big difference for the more than 73,600 people—or one in eight households—in Waterloo region who rely on food assistance. Every dollar raised during the event helps The Food Bank provide two healthy, nutritious meals to someone in need. This means each $150 ticket provides 300 meals for individuals and families struggling to afford food.

The Food Bank is also inviting businesses to get involved in Whisky & Wine in the Warehouse through sponsorship. Partnering with The Food Bank provides companies with opportunities to promote their brand while demonstrating their support for the community.
