Community Sort NightSkip to Event Details
Participating in a Community Sort Night at The Food Bank of Waterloo Region is a fun and engaging way to learn about the work we do, while helping to get much needed food to our neighbours. Each year, volunteers sort more than 900,000 pounds of community-donated food.
Community food and fund donations play a critical role in helping to ensure no one goes hungry.
Please note, space is limited and registration is required.
To participate in the Community Sort Night, we ask you to support us by donating a bag of our most needed food items or make a minimum financial donation:
- Group of 4: $25
- Adult Participant: $10
- Youth Participant: $5
To ensure the safety of all Community Sort Night participants, please note the following:
Age Limit: Children must be 8 years of age or older to participate in food sorting. All children between the ages of 8 and 17 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian and have a waiver form signed (available on site during the activity).
Attire: For many of the volunteer activities you will be working in a warehouse environment and heavy lifting may be required. For your comfort and safety, we require you to wear closed toe and flat footwear. Work gloves are optional. Dress comfortably and in layers as the temperature can fluctuate.
Accessibility: Please note that our warehouse entrance is not wheelchair accessible. We have an accessible entrance through our front office which can be made available. If you require accommodations or support, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org and we will ensure that all participants are able to enter our building safely during this event.
