Aviation Fun Day
Each year, we look forward to opening our doors to let people explore their airport on foot. In light of the COVID-19 crisis we have made the difficult decision to cancel Aviation Fun Day.
This will have a negative impact on The Food Bank of Waterloo Region and the Cambridge Self-Help Food Bank. Food banks rely on fundraising events and food industry partnerships to operate, leaving significant gaps in donations. This has created a more urgent need for donations in our community. Now, our food banks need to buy even more food items to help fill inventory gaps and they need your help. Together, we can ensure they have enough to feed our most vulnerable. If you can, please consider donating to The Food Bank of Waterloo Region and the Cambridge Self-Help Food Bank.
We will get through this together – for now, we urge people to stay home, stay safe and stay informed.

Downtown Kitchener Ribfest & Craft Beer Show: September 25-27
Message from Kitchener Ribfest organizers:
April 30, 2020
We have been closely monitoring the impact of COVID-19 and feel that in the best interest of the health and safety of our community, the 2020 Downtown Kitchener Ribfest & Craft Beer Show, scheduled for July 17-19 be postponed.
The good news is that we are still working to bring you mouth-watering bbq and craft beer this summer and have tentatively re-scheduled #KWRibfest for September 25-27. This is, of course, pending further information and recommendations from government and health officials on COVID-19, but we hope that five months from now it will once again be safe for large public gatherings and to celebrate together.
We love our #KWRibfest community. Yes, it’s about enjoying ribs and craft beer, but anyone who’s been part of our event knows it’s more than that. Charities, vendors, artists, staff etc., there are many people and businesses impacted by the cancellation or postponement of events. We know that losing social events, gatherings, concerts and all of the many things we do as groups of people is a tough loss. Ultimately we feel it’s of the utmost importance to do what’s best for the well being of our community and bring people back together only when we know it’s safe to do so.
We are heartened and hopeful that our situation in Ontario is improving, and would like to thank everyone who has taken measures to help protect our collective safety and well being.
We would also like to take this opportunity to express our gratitude to the thousands of people who support the Downtown Kitchener Ribfest & Craft Beer Show, and to everyone who makes the event possible each year.
We can’t wait to see you again and wish you good health in the meantime.
