FUNDS: Financial donations are important and allow us the flexibility to purchase the food and items (bags, boxes, etc.) to urgently fill any gaps in our inventory and support the process of distributing food to the Community Food Assistance Network.

We/I would like to collect funds online.

Many coordinators have had great success with our online donation pages for their drives. It’s a safe contact free way to support The Food Bank, especially when many are still working from home. Coordinators do not have to worry about collecting and keeping track of funds or figuring out a way to transport any non-perishable donations. Donations that qualify for a tax receipt are sent via email when donations are made. Instructions on how to set up your fundraiser will be sent via emial.

These are items that have been identified as high-need items requested by the agencies that The Food Bank is having to purchase or run low on.

Individually Packaged Snacks: these are an excellent choice for kids lunches, take-away meals, and a way for Community Outreach workers to connect with those who are precariously housed or experiencing homelessness.
Dry Beans: a healthy, versatile source of protein. Many cultures use dry beans as a stable when preparing healthy meals for their families.
Juice Boxes: distributed at community meal and hamper programs and are an excellent option for kids lunches, and take-away meals.
Canned Fruit: a healthy, nutritious and a diverse option that can be included in school lunches, take-away meals and at community meal programs.
Rice: as we continue to see the diversity of Waterloo Region evolve, many families view rice as a stable to accompany their dinner every night. It can be used in a variety of dishes

Make your donation go further when you drop off food and funds at The Food Bank. If you do require a pick-up, we will do our best to accommodate your request. Please note pick-ups are dependent upon size of donation and availability of volunteer drivers - If we cannot accommodate your request, we will contact you.

By publicly naming The Food Bank of Waterloo Region as the beneficiary of my event, I agree to donate the full amount of the proceeds raised within 60 days of the event date(s). I agree that a representative of The Food Bank of Waterloo Region must approve the use of its name and/or logo prior to public use/promotion. Official tax receipts are issued at the sole discretion of The Food Bank in accordance with CRA guidelines. The Food Bank of Waterloo Region cannot guarantee a representative will be available to attend your event.
