Food Sorting

Sorting community food donations is a fun and engaging team building experience, all while helping to get much-needed food to our neighbours where we live and do business.  Each year our volunteers sort 900,000 lbs of food community food donations.

Food sorting is done in 2 hour blocks, maximum of 25 participants, includes training, facility tour, snacks and beverages.

Schedule (Times approximate)

1:00 pm- arrive at The Food Bank of Waterloo Region, 50 Alpine Court.
1:15 pm – Food Sorting
2:00 pm– Break & Tour and overview of the vital work done by the team of staff and volunteers assisting 1 in 20 households in our community.
2:15 pm – Food Sorting
3:00 pm- Wrap up
