Scouts volunteering at The Food Bank of Waterloo Region.

Looking for a way to volunteer as a group or team?

The Food Bank of Waterloo Region hosts community groups to volunteer with us through our Food Engagement Program. Activities are usually two hours long and involve sorting non-perishable or frozen donations, building hampers, or working in our food centre, followed by an informative tour of our distribution centre. It’s a great way to connect as a group and spend time together giving back to your community.

For youth groups, we can offer a mixture of educational activity, tour and non-perishable food sorting during the two hour timeslot.

We ask that community groups coordinate a food and fund drive and raise 250 pounds of food to participate in an onsite site activity. If your group prefers to raise funds, that is also appreciated, as $20 per person can help The Food Bank provide 40 meals for the community.

If you’re interested in a volunteer activity with your community group, please complete the form.
