Westmount Tradition Charity Tennis Tournament gives back to The Food Bank
June 20th, 2023Events, In the Community
From June 16 to 18, the Westmount Golf & Country Club hosted its 7th annual Tradition Charity Tennis Tournament in Kitchener. This year’s event raised more than $109,000 for The Food Bank.
More than 100 players took part in the weekend event, which included a variety of activities and initiatives.
On the Saturday night, Westmount Golf & Country Club members attended a gala and live auction in support of The Food Bank of Waterloo Region. Items up for grabs at the auction included a set of WestJet airline tickets and a round of golf with Western Amateur Golf Champion Garrett Rank! Additionally, a casino night was held in May to kick off the tournament.
Westmount Golf & Country Club also hosted a silent auction and the draw for The Food Bank’s 50/50 raffle. The public was invited to participate in both. Harald Schwegel was the lucky 50/50 winner and took home $5,240!
We were incredibly honoured to be the chosen charity for this year’s tennis tournament. With the funds raised, The Food Bank can provide 218,000 meals for people in need.
Thank you so much to Westmount Golf & Country Club for hosting this event and to all who participated. Your generosity truly makes a difference to the more than 40,500 individuals in our community who struggle to afford to put food on the table and need food assistance.
