Giving back has never tasted so sweet! From November 17 to 23, 2025, Tim Hortons locations in Kitchener-Waterloo sold Holiday Smile Cookies in support of The Food Bank of Waterloo Region and Tim Hortons Foundation Camps. Thanks to the generosity of our community, this year’s campaign raised an incredible $72,048 for The Food Bank. That’s enough to provide 144,096 meals for people in need! Talk about making food insecurity crumble!

“This year alone, there were close to 622,000 visits to local food hamper programs—the highest ever recorded, and a 205 per cent increase since 2019,” says Kim Wilhelm, CEO of The Food Bank. “The money raised through the Holiday Smile Cookie campaign is greatly appreciated, as it will help us continue meeting the growing need for food support.”

This is the third year that Tim Hortons has spread kindness and joy with its national Holiday Smile Cookie campaign, supporting local charities and community groups across Canada. Since 2023, the Kitchener-Waterloo community has bought enough cookies to provide 425,431 meals! Now that’s something to smile about!

“The Holiday Smile Cookie campaign is a good opportunity to give back to the community, and it brings a lot of excitement in the restaurants,” says Graham Oliver, the owner of multiple Tim Hortons restaurants in Kitchener and Waterloo. “Giving back to The Food Bank is the right thing to do. Food insecurity isn’t going away. If anything, unfortunately, I think it’s getting worse. So, if we can do our bit to help, we’re very pleased to be involved.”
“As everybody knows, there’s a huge need in this city,” adds Joel Oliver, the owner of several Tim Hortons locations in Kitchener and Waterloo. “It’s just one small thing but the community gets involved and the cookie goes so far. Just a couple bucks feeds so many. It’s a great cause and the community really supports it.”
A huge thank you to Tim Hortons for running the Holiday Smile Cookie campaign and to all who bought a cookie. Your support truly helps the nearly 73,000 people in our community who struggle to afford groceries and need food assistance.
