Helping neighbours in need is a community effort, and we’re so grateful to everyone for showing us incredible generosity as we work together to feed the one in nine households in our community struggling to afford to put food on the table.
The food and funds that The Food Bank receives from the community help fill inventory gaps in its distribution centre, buy food to meet diverse cultural and dietary needs, keep delivery trucks on the road, and support the 61 organizations in the Community Food Assistance Network.
About the First Responders to Food Bank 365 Program
The First Responders to Food Bank 365 program is a partnership between Melloul-Blamey, first responders, and The Food Bank. People can drop off non-perishable food donations to fire, police, and paramedic stations, 365 days a year, the same way they are open for service in the community. Since 2015, the First Responders to Food Bank 365 program has provided nearly 200,000 meals for people in need in Waterloo region.
