Wendi Campbell, former CEO of The Food Bank of Waterloo Region, passes away

The Food Bank of Waterloo Region Board of Directors is saddened to share the news that our former CEO Wendi Campbell has passed away. Wendi led our organization for nearly two decades with compassion, dedication, and a steadfast commitment to addressing food insecurity in our community. The Food Bank would not be what it is today without her leadership and support.

Wendi’s commitment to community service innovation in our community was unparalleled. As our longest serving employee, Wendi was a driving force in the procurement of over 40 million pounds of food for our region and surrounding communities. In addition to overseeing the day-to-day operations, Wendi was a fearless advocate for The Food Bank, working with numerous provincial and national committees and boards to enhance systems related to food security.

Wendi leaves behind a profound legacy of innovation, progress, and impact at The Food Bank. In addition to her leadership, Wendi had a bright vision for our community. She believed, with unyielding conviction, that through collaboration, advocacy, and perseverance, we could find sustainable solutions to address food insecurity and ensure that no one in Waterloo region goes hungry. We will continue to honour that vision.

We encourage you to share your condolences or a memory of Wendi on social media.
