253,000 meals raised at Whisky & Wine in the Warehouse

We’re thrilled to share that our signature fundraising event, Whisky & Wine in the Warehouse, has raised an incredible 253,000 meals for individuals and families in our community who are struggling to afford food.

Held on Saturday, April 25, 2026 at our distribution centre in Kitchener, the second annual event welcomed more than 200 guests for a memorable evening of great food, drink, and community impact.

Guests enjoyed curated whisky and wine tastings from Ontario producers Still Waters Distillery and Malivoire Wine Company. The experience was complemented by delicious passed hors d’oeuvres and a beautifully arranged grazing tableprepared by Bella Vista Catering and Events.

Throughout the evening, there were many ways for guests to give back and make a difference. One of the highlights was the always-popular bottle pull, where a donation gave guests the chance to select a mystery-wrapped bottle to take home. The silent and live auctions also featured a range of unique items and experiences, all generously donated by individuals and local businesses.

The evening was guided by emcee Leighanne Evans, whose warmth and presence helped bring the program to life and kept the momentum going throughout the night.

A key part of the energy in the room came from Dub Stenning of Fripp Auctions, who led the live auction with enthusiasm and ease. His ability to engage the crowd, build momentum, and create a sense of excitement helped drive generous bidding and brought the experience to life for everyone in attendance.

Thanks to ticket sales and fundraising activities, the event raised more than $126,600 to support The Food Bank and neighbours in need.

Guests were also invited to support the expansion of our hamper delivery service—helping us reach more vulnerable individuals and families who may have difficulty accessing a hamper program in person. Of the total funds raised, $29,000 has been directed to support this important initiative.

This remarkable evening would not have been possible without the support of our sponsorsStecho ElectricBDOBMW Grand RiverBrigus Learning, and Strassburger Windows and Doors—our media sponsors, CTV KitchenerBounce RadioVirgin Radio, our valued in-kind supporters, Costco WaterlooSpace at Hand Storage, and W Design Coas well as the many volunteers who helped bring the event to life.
